Course Description
As part of a Independent Study in Religion with Laury Silvers at Skidmore College, we compiled and molded our interest for the study of Islam to better understand the Quran, Hadith and Islamic Jurisprudience (during the Spring semester of 2006). We studied both the texts in question, as well as the circumstances surrounding important events in Islamic history. We worked on this online database and established discussion forums and outlines of readings. In addition to our discussion, we have included resources and information to topics related to our course of study. A total of four students collaborated together to form this website (with the guidance of Laury Silvers): Alexis Sherman '06, Ashly Higgins '06, Tunazzina Ahmed '07 and Hager Youssef '08.
